Sculptor Heinz Warneke (1895 - 1983) was born in Germany and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin. In 1927 Heinz Warneke, known for his ability to capture the essence of animal behaviour sculpted this "Elegance Cat".

Although Warneke produced many notable sculptures in his lifetime, Elegance, beautifully sculpted in marble, remains one of his most famous pieces.
